A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Dhaka (DU) and Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) was signed on Monday at the VC’s lounge of Dhaka University to establish mutually beneficial collaborations and joint research activities. DU Treasurer Professor Dr Md Kamal Uddin and Chairman of BAEC Professor Dr Md Sanowar Hossain signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institution.
Vice-Chancellor of DU Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, Registrar Md Enamuzzaman, BAEC Member Dr Md Abdus Salam, Director of BAEC Dr Syed Mohammad Hossain, Director of DU Public Relations Office Mahmood Alam, Chairmen of DU Nuclear Engineering Department Md Monzur Hossain Khan and Former Chairman of the department Dr Md Shafiqul Islam were, among others, present on this occasion.
DU VC thanked the BAEC authorities for signing this MoU. He hoped that the teachers, students and researchers of DU concerned departments would be highly benefited by this MoU.
According to the MoU, DU and BAEC will work together to conduct joint research activities and exchange research publications, academic and scientific staff. Besides, they will also jointly organize conferences, seminars, workshops and training programmes under this MoU which will be effective for a period of five years and may be extended further.
