Bangladesh’s critically acclaimed actor Mosharraf Karim’s performance in the lead role of Bratya Basu-directed crime thriller commercial film 'Hubba' has come in for praise in Kolkata media.
Mosharraf, who was seen in Bratya Basu’s previous film 'Dictionary', “seamlessly fits into the role of Hubba and owns it. It’s a treat to watch him as he executes one heinous crime after another, or watches (Hindi film Sarkar starring Amitabh Bachchan) in an empty hall he has booked,” said the review.
In an interview with The Telegraph newspaper of Kolkata, Bratya Basu, when asked what made him select Mosharraf Karim as the main antagonist, described the latter, as ‘a brilliant actor’.
Basu said that he had decided to rope in Mosharraf in his next project at the time of working with him in Dictionary in 2021.
“I have seen very few actors whose acting is multi-layered and yet so subtle. He is also a very composed and disciplined actor,” the director said.
'Hubba' hit the cinema halls in Bangladesh and Kolkata on Friday.
