When the renowned educational institutions are not enrolling the students with lower marks, a college in Jhenaidah has been providing education to them and bringing under the mainstream education to make them good citizens with intensive care. The college overcoming from its limitations has been ensuring education for them for years together. Mosharraf Hossain Degree College located at Hamdah area in Jhenaidah municipality is such an institution playing role in making soldiers in nation building activities.
Rozoni Khatun, Fatema Khatun, Babu Hossain and Sagar Hossain, studying in higher secondary education when contacted said they have been studying in the college facing a number of troubles for a long. As they do not have separate building for academic activities, attend classes in the information and communication technology (ICT) building.
Lack of wash blocks in the college, the students both female and male face troubles. The dilapidated road adjacent to the college hampers their smooth movement to and from the college. The safety and security of the college is under threat when the authorities could not construct boundary walls in past 22 years.

Two guardians Sukesh Das of Kalicharanpur village and Jafar Iqbal of Hamdah area when contacted said the suitable location of the college in Jhenaidah town and the behavior of the teachers and staffs of the college encouraged them to send their children to the college. Further, the renowned colleges in the town did not allow their children due to poor marks in secondary education certificate examinations. E ach and everybody involved with the college take care of every student either girl or boy. They feel safe by sending their children to the college, the duo said.
Mosharraf Hossain Degree College founder principal Sayedul Alam when contacted said the geographical location of the college in Jhenaidah town and positive attitude of the teachers and other staffs is their capital to develop the college based on the rural and poor children in Jhenaidah.
He said the education engineering department (EED) had constructed a four-storied building for the ICT section on 80 decimals of land in 2019. T he area of the college is now 140 decimals. 530 students studying in the higher secondary education (HSC), while another 80 in the degree classes. They have been running humanities, commerce, science and business management technology (BMT) in the HSC, while bachelor of social science in degree level.
Admitting huge limitations for separate building, lack of wash blocks in the college, dilapidated road adjacent to the college, lack of boundary walls, a modern shahid minar and a playground, the founder principal said they had informed the matter to local administration, education board and ministry concern for a solution at an early time. They have been trying to fill up the pond adjacent to the college building so that the students could practice game and prove their skill and efficiency.

The education icon said they have been hopefully nursing the poor mark bearing students and developing their merit with the cooperation of teachers, officials and employees of the college with a motive to build good citizens for the nation which the renowned colleges had denied.
