More training centers to set up for making skilled workforce

There are 150 technical institutes and centers in the country to make workers skilled and send them abroad. Efforts are underway to establish 100 more training centers in the country.

State Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury this while speaking as the chief guest at a meeting and reception programme organized by the UK Awami League and its affiliated organizations held at the Atrium Center in London on Monday, according to a press release received here on Tuesday. 

Reiterating his commitment to tackling the difficulties encountered by expatriates, State Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury said to use his personal experience in exile. 

He said, “Efforts will continue to take effective measures to solve these problems. My main goal is to ensure that the expatriate cell operates at its full capacity.” 

Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury also the President of Sylhet District Awami League was felicitated by the United Kingdom Awami League held at the Atrium Center in London on Monday.

United Kingdom Awami League President Sultan Mahmud Sharif presided over the event. General Secretary Syed Sajidur Rahman Farooq conducted the program.

The state minister said, “There are 150 technical institutes and centers in the country to send skilled workers abroad. We will try to establish 100 more training centers in the country.” 

Expatriate community leaders including UK Awami League Vice President Jalal Uddin, Hormuz Ali, Joint General Secretary Maruf Chowdhury, Naeem Riaz, Organizing Secretary Ahad Chowdhury, London Metropolitan Awami League President Lala Mia and General Secretary Altabur Rahman Mujahid spoke at the meeting.
