Month-long flower festival begins in Ctg

A month-long flower festival was inaugurated for the second time at DC Park Faujdarhat under Sitakunda upazila of the district here on Thursday.

Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain inaugurated the festival as chief guest.

Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram Abul Bashar Mohammad Fakruzzaman presided over the inaugural function while Senior Secretary of Ministry of Public Administration Mohammad Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury and Divisional Commissioner Chattogram Md. Tofail Islam were present as special guests.

The flower festival was formally inaugurated by cutting ribbon and blowing balloons. This fair will continue till February 24.

The park, which has been established over 194 acres of Khas land. There are 127 different types of flowers. Visitors are fascinated by this kingdom of flowers.

Mentionable, the Chattogram District Administration recovered 194 acres of khas land along the Marine Drive Road in Faujdarhat, which had been occupied by local drug addicts and criminals for more than a decade. Later, the area has been transformed into an attractive park by planting thousands of flower plants, offering additional facilities for the visitors.
