Mohakhali Bus Terminal becomes extortion free: Owners Association

Mohakhali Bus Terminal Road Transport Owners Association has said that there is no more extortion at Mohakhali Bus Terminal in the capital.

Samity President Mohammad Abul Kalam came up with the disclosure at a press conference held at Mohakhali Bus Tarminal on Monday.

He said, "After August 5, there was no extortion on buses in Mohakhali. However, recently some media have reported the extortion story of Mohakhali Bus Terminal. But I want to firmly say that there has been no extortion at Mohakhali bus terminal after August 5”. 

Abul Kalam said, 'When we are going through busy time with various measures to bring order in the transport sector and reduce accidents to cooperate with the present government. At that time, in order to disrupt the road transport sector like the garment sector, the allies of the autocratic Awami government and some privileged groups are trying to disrupt the transport sector by instigating in various ways. In this regard, we request all the owners and workers of the transport sector to be vigilant.

He also said, "Earlier, the former general secretary of Dhaka Road Transport Owners' Association, Khandkar Enayet Ulyah Mohakhali, used to drive the Ena Paribahan bus by force from the bus terminal. It is mandatory to be a member of this association to operate a bus from Mohakhali Bus Terminal. Khandaker Enayet Ullah has driven from this bus terminal for a long time.

During this period he never became our member. He did not give any help to our owners and workers. He continued with the strength of his body. We had no power to resist him.
