Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has thanked Bangladesh for making “excellent arrangement’ during his two-day state visit on March 26-27, marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence.
“I write to convey my thanks for the excellent arrangements made during my recent State Visit to Bangladesh,” he wrote a letter to Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, the foreign ministry said on Monday.
“I would also like to congratulate the Bangladesh Government for flawless organising the spectacular celebrations on 26 March, to mark 50 years since Bangladesh’s liberation as well as the birth Centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” read the letter.
The Indian premier also recalled his meeting with foreign minister Momen.
“It was a pleasure to exchange thoughts with you (Momen) during the visit,” Modi wrote.
