The modern slaughterhouse will be built in the old Chandgaon thana area in Chattogram city. It will be constructed with financial assistance of the Department of Livestock.
Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) is giving land for construction of the modern slaughter house at a cost of Tk 83 crore.
Fisheries and Livestock Ministry Additional Director Kazi Wahid Uddin met with CCC Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin on Saturday afternoon in this regard.
At the time, the mayor said, there is no quality slaughterhouse in Chittagong. However, there is a duty to slaughter animals in a healthy slaughterhouse. Besides, animals are not slaughtered in the slaughterhouse in the city. Under the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Ministry of Livestock has planned to build this slaughter house. For this, express gratitude to the Prime Minister.
After the construction of the slaughter house, Chittagong City Corporation will take care of it.
It is learned from the sources that in the meantime, consultants have been appointed for the feasibility study of the proposed place for the construction of the slaughter house. The construction of the construction of the slaughter house in October this year is expected to begin, the concerned authorities said.
If the slaughterhouse is built, it can be slaughtered one hundred animals together. Organic fertilizers will be prepared by processing slaughtered animal waste.
