A new branch of Lazz Pharma was inaugurated at Pallabi of Mirpur in the capital on Saturday.
Major General Md Mahbubur Rahman, Directorate General of Drug Administration (DA), inaugurated the pharmacy by cutting ribbon. This pharmacy was accredited as Model Pharmacy under the pilot project of Bangladesh Model Pharmacy Initiative.
A discussion programme was held on occasion. Elias Uddin Mollah, MP from Dhaka-16, spoke there as the chief guest.
Major General Md Mostafijur Rahman, Commandant of Armed Forces Medical College, Hasan Ahmed Chowhury Kiron, Chairman of Debate for Democracy, Lutfar Rahman, Managing Director of Lazz Pharma Ltd, Nawshin Shakila, Managing Director of Medicine Plus, also spoke there, among others.
At that time, entrepreneurs ensured maintaining the quality of the medicines.
Md Mahbubur Rahman said they target to open the model pharmacy in every town. If the medicines are kept without ensuring quality, the treatment will be hindered. Due to the fake medicine, a treatment can be spoiled, he added.
He said, “We plan to open the Model Pharmacy against every 6000 people like the Community Clinic that remains in our country with the same ratio.”
Hasan Anmed Chowdhury Kiron, who is also entrepreneur of Lazz Pharma, said, “We ensure all to provide quality medicine maintaining the reserving policy. After production, if medicine was not reserved in a right way, the quality may worse.”
The shop is founded with the joint venture of Lazz Pharma and Medicine Plus. Lazz Pharma is the biggest retailer of medicine in the country. The shop is planned to be opened 24/7 for emergency.
