A mobile court in Jhenaidah has awarded two drug addicts seven days of imprisonment and a fine of Tk 100 each when they were caught red handed while taking canabis in a Jhenaidah village on Saturday.
The convicted drug addicts were identified as Saiful Islam and Shubir Adhikary.
Assistant Commissioner of Jhenaidah Deputy Commissioner’s office and Executive Magistrate Zinnatul Islam gave the verdict of imprisonment.
Zinnatul Islam said acting on a tip off, a contingent of the mobile court personnel conducted drives at Pabahati areas in Jhenaidah municipality when Saiful Islam, son of Tulu Mia and Subir Adhikary, son of Parimal Adhikary of the village were taking canabis.
They caught the duo red handed and awarded them seven days imprisonment and fined for Taka 100 each.
