Dhallywood popular actress Rafiath Rashid Mithila and Tollywood superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee starrer upcoming film titled ‘Aay Khuku Aay’ slated for a new release on June 17 instead of May 27.
On Sunday May 15, the director of the film Souvik Kundu shared a post on his Facebook profile stating the film ‘Aay Khuku Aay’ is not coming this month.
Mithila's debut in Tollywood was delayed by almost a month but in the meantime, the Bangladeshi actress has written her name in several movies in Kolkata apart from ‘Aay Khuku Aay’. Some of the shooting is over, some are in the middle. The list includes Raajhorshee De’s ‘Maya’ a dark film based on William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Riingo Banerjee’s ‘A River in Heaven’ and Arunav Khasanbish's 'Nitishastro'.
It is learnt that there are three more films on the list to be released on May 27 they are 'Shabor', 'Cheene Badam' and ‘Bhoye Peyo Na’. To avoid the box office clash and some technical reasons ‘Aay Khuku Aay’ has been delayed after discussing with Prosenjit Chatterjee. It will take some more time to finish some graphics work.
The screenplay of the film ‘Aay Khuku Aay’ is jointly written by Sugata Sinha along with the director. Mithila will make a guest appearance in the film, sharing the screen with Prosenjit Chatterjee as per reports. Apart from Mithila and Prosenjit the film also features Ditipriya, Sohini Sengupta, Shankar Debnath among others.
Ever since the film was announced and the first look was dropped on social media, it created a lot of buzz among cine buffs. Prosenjit’s middle-aged look with a receding hairline had surprised all. Not only Prosenjit’s middle-aged distressed look but Ditipriya’s simple salwar kameez appearance in the already released posters have also suggested it is a story about the bond between a father and daughter.
Recently the title song of the movie has been released. Mithila has appeared as Prosenjit's wife in the scene of this song along with a little girl in her lap. Audience has liked their chemistry and said Mithila is a good fit as Prosenjit's wife.'
Renowned West Bengal actor Jeet, who co-produced the film under the banner of Jeetz FilmWorks, reportedly has a cameo in it.
