Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has said unequivocally that miscreants will be brought to book no matter where they are.

The IGP made this statement while providing financial assistance to the families of three police officers, who were brutally killed in recent attacks by miscreants.

The programme took place at the Hall of Pride in the Police Headquarters on Wednesday.

The IGP said that the deceased police officers were dedicated to ensuring the safety of the country’s people, inspired by the spirit of the Liberation War.

Describing the brutal attacks by the miscreants, the IGP questioned, “Is it our crime to provide security to the people of this country?”

Nevertheless, the unwavering morale of the fearless members of the Bangladesh Police remains intact. They are committed to providing security to the country and its people.

Expressing deep sympathy to the families of the deceased police officers, the IGP said, “You have lost loved ones, a loss that cannot be compensated. All members of the Bangladesh Police stand by you. You will find us by your side whenever needed.”

The IGP also said that as Bangladesh progresses with the spirit of the Liberation War, everyone will live with pride.

In a sombre environment, the IGP handed over condolence messages and financial assistance to the wives of the deceased police officers.

The three martyred police officers are Inspector (Unarmed) Md Masud Parvez Bhuiyan of PBI, Narayanganj, ASI (Unarmed) Md Moktadir of Tourist Police, and Nayek Md Gias Uddin of the Protection Division of DMP.

Notably, the IGP also provided financial assistance to the family of a deceased Ansar member.
