Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has received an offer from Warwickshire to play English County Cricket, revealed to Cricfrenzy.

English player Jake Lintott, who played with Miraz in Dhaka Premier League (DPL) for Mohammedan gave him the proposal to play in County Cricket.

Miraz himself confirmed the matter to Cricfrenzy, “I have received an offer, but it all depends on whether there is an international schedule at that time,”

Miraz said he will be playing County cricket only if there are no national duties as Bangladesh are set to play Afghanistan series.

“If there is an opportunity, there will be an effort to go. For now, my focus is on the Afghanistan series. I started practicing from today. I hope the series will go well,” he added.

Not many from Bangladesh have historically taken part in the prestigious first-class competition.

Shakib Al Hasan, who made his presence for Worcestershire in the early stages of his career, while star opener Tamim Iqbal featured for Nottinghamshire. Mustafiz Rahman also played in the competition for Sussex but ruled out due to injury after playing one match.
