Actress Bidya Sinha Mim and Sariful Razz starrer last film titled ‘Poran’, directed by Raihan Rafi was released on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. Based on the true incident of the much-talked story of Barguna’s 'Rifat-Munni' was highly appreciated by the audience.
Once again, the duo will be seen together in Raihan Rafi directed upcoming film titled ‘Damal’. The film is about Shadhin Bangla Football Team based on the story of Faridur Reza Sagar.
The film will be produced under Impress Telefilm and screenplay by Nazim ud Daulah. Apart from Razz and Mim it will also feature actors like Siam Ahmed, Saeed Babu, Rashed Mamun Apu, Sumit, Shahnaz Sumi, Puja, Brishti, Othoi, Nazmus Saqib, and many others in various roles.
Recently the film has been submitted and also screened at the Censor Board. The film was given a 'No Objection' certificate after the screening that will be announced in the next two days.
The film 'Damal' is based on the story of independent Bengali football team during the liberation war. The money earned by playing football is being spent on freedom fighters. Apart from this, many unknown stories will be seen.
Regarding the context director Raihan Rafi said, “the story of 'Damal' has no such history in any other country in the world. Some images of the football team in 1971 and the women's football team in the present day will be seen in the film 'Damal'. It is a big budget film and the work has been completed through continuous shooting in various locations of Sayedpur, Rangpur in North Bengal. A lot of time has been spent on VFX. All in all, Damal is coming up with something great”.
About the censoring of the film 'Damal', Mim said, “I have heard that it has been censored. Several members from Censor Board called and expressed great appreciation. They said that they were impressed by 'Damal' and the way 'Poran' touched the hearts of the audience, I believe the same will happen with 'Damal'. Now I am waiting for its release.”
