Mills owner held with govt rice at Kuliarchar

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-14), Bhairab Camp detained a rice mill owner along with 25 sacks of rice of government’s ‘Khaddo Bandhob' program in Kishoreganj's Kuliyarchar upazila on Saturday night.

The detainee was identified as Abdur Rahim, 52, a resident of Lohajarikanda area of Belabo upazila of neighbouring Narsingdi district. He was detained from Dumrakanda Bazar area of Kuliyarchar upazila.

Confirming the matter, Additional Superintendent of Police Rafiuddin Mohammad Yobayer, Company Commander of RAB-14 CPC-3 Bhairab Camp, said that mills owner Abdur Rahim was arrested in a raid in Dumrakanda Bazar area of the upazila on Saturday night. During this time, 25 sacks of rice and 13 fake cards of the ‘Khaddo Bandhob' program were seized. 

He also said, Rice dealer Saiful Islam Ratan's godown was sealed as he was involved in the incident. Legal action is being taken in this regard at Kuliyarchar police station, he added.
