A village doctor in Bandarban district was murdered after being abducted on Sunday afternoon. Family members of the murdered said that the incident occurred due to a land dispute. Police on Monday morning found his body from an abandoned shop in Bakichhara area. No case has been filed till now.
Bathuimong Marma, a witness said that a group of armed militants on Sunday afternoon nabbed Mongputhai Marma and interrogated him on whereabouts of Uggo Marma. After he identified Uggo Marma, who was sitting at the adjacent pharmacy, militants nabbed him and took him from the pharmacy. During the time, more than 25 armed militants were covering the area and claiming they are members of Mog Liberation Party.
Family members of Uggo Marma claimed that the militant group was used to abduct him due to land dispute.
Wife of Uggo marma said that her husband had a dispute with Bandarban Municipality Ward-1 AL Joint general Secretary Khairul Bashar over a land. Other than that, her husband did not have any quarrel with anyone.
Bandarban Sadar Police Station OC Shahidul Islam said the killing was done in a unique way. The backside of the head was smashed brutally. Rather than that, no other wond could be found in the body. Traces of internal bleeding was not sees. The body was recovered from an abandoned shop near a brick field.
OC Shahidul Islam added that no suspect was found till now but investigation is ongoing.
