Model-actress Tangia Zaman Methila the winner of 'Miss Universe Bangladesh 2020' has made her name in Bollywood movies by Indian director Haider Khan’s movie titled 'Rohingya' in 2019. The actress has finished work of the movie long ago.
However, due to lack of censor clearance the release of the movie was delayed. On Monday Aug 23 the movie got censor clearance. As a result, Methila has no obstacle in her Bollywood debut.
Regarding this context the actress said, ‘Finally, the movie got clearance from the censor board. With this, the long wait came to an end. The release date has not been finalised yet. The movie will be released soon.’
Methila has played the role of ‘Rohingya’ girl named Hussain Ara in this Bollywood movie. She will be seen speaking two languages Arakanese and Hindi. During the shooting, it was very useful for her being proficient in Hindi. However, a translator was also there on the sets for the convenience of the work. ‘Mr Bhutan’ Sangay has played the role opposite the actress. However, the screenplay of the movie has been arranged around the character of Methila. About her working experience in cinema she said, "I have learned a lot while working in this film. The work experience is undoubtedly good. After working here, I decided to act.’
‘I have a lot of respect for this movie. But it won’t be my perfect job! Because this is my very first movie as I have written my name in movies through modeling. I am not expecting much from this. But I tried my best,’ the actress added.
Haider Khan, the director of 'Rohingya', has worked as an assistant director in Bollywood's 'Dabangg', 'Commando' and 'Dangal'. The producer plans to release his new movie 'Rohingya' on the OTT platform.
On April 3, Methila was crowned by Bollywood actress and model Chitrangada Singh at a five-star hotel in Dhaka.
She has recently signed two movies and soon she will start shooting.
