A view exchange meeting titled 'Obstacles in the Protection of Bangladesh's Rivers' was held at Kalapara Press Club in Patuakhali on Saturday.
Two non-governmental organisations named Amara and Water Keepers Bangladesh organised this exchange meeting.
Under the chairmanship of Humayun Kabir, Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Apu Saha, Kalapara Municipality Panel Mayor Md. Humayun Kabir were present in the programme.
At the beginning of the meeting, Iqbal Farooq, Programme Manager of Water Keepers Bangladesh, presented a concept paper on the issues to be done to protect the Andharmanik River.
Media workers Nesharuddin Ahmed Tipu, Jaseem Parvez, Milon Karmakar Raju, Farid Talukder and others spoke in this exchange meeting moderated by environmental activist Mejbahuddin Mannoor.
People of various professions including marginal farmers, fishermen, traders, fishermen of Kalapara upazila participated in the meeting.
