The Health Minister, Samanta Lal Sen, has said that improving education in medical colleges will produce more skilled doctors. He shared these thoughts during a meeting with teachers and students at M Abdur Rahim Medical College in Dinajpur on Sunday.
Minister Sen emphasized the importance of upgrading medical college facilities. "If our medical colleges provide better education, we will get more skilled doctors," he said. He mentioned that the colleges are responsible for producing doctors and, therefore, need better facilities.
He also spoke about the Health Protection Act, which is almost ready. "We have had many meetings about this law in the ministry. It will protect both patients and doctors," he added.
During the meeting, Jahangir Alam, the Secretary of the Health Care Department, stressed the need for doctors to complete postgraduate studies in all available subjects. He also talked about creating extra positions for doctors.
The Principal of M Abdur Rahim Medical College, AFM Nuruullah, led the meeting. Other notable attendees included Jatiya Sangsad Whip Iqbalur Rahim, Health Care Department Secretary Md. Jahangir Alam, and Director General of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Prof. Abul Basar Mohammad Khurshid Alam. Officials from the health department and local administration were also present.Additionally, it was announced that another private university has received approval to operate.
