MCC to take steps to reduce traffic congestion

Due to excessive rainfall, there are numerous potholes on the road causing traffic obstruction on the Mymensingh bypass road. As a result, thousands of vehicles from four districts pass through the city and the passengers suffer from unbearable traffic jams. City residents are also victims of this traffic jam. Recently, the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police had to face various questions from people of various professions who were fed up with the unbearable traffic jam.

A team including Mymensingh Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Haque and Mymensingh Superintendent of Police Machum Ahmed Bhuya went out for inspection early in the morning on Friday holidays to find ways to alleviate the suffering and suffering of the public.

For the past few days, the district commissioner and the police superintendent along with the transport owners, labor leaders, along with the leaders of Mymensingh city, have directed to implement some important decisions immediately.

In order to decongest the city of Mymensingh, several urgent decisions were taken to decongest the city by solving the problems arising in the joint inspection led by the Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh. That is, with the aim of decongesting the city, various directions are given regarding the implementation of the decisions taken by the District Law and Order Committee. The District Commissioner inspected illegal structures in Patgudam bus stand area and gave directions regarding the eviction process. A few more decisions were also taken - the ditches in the Shikarikanda bypass area of the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway will be repaired and renovated by Saturday. The construction of Shikarikanda bypass area will be completed as soon as possible. The potholes on the road from Shikarikanda to Patgudam Mor will be repaired by Monday. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Haque announced that the illegal constructions in the Jute warehouse bus stand area will be removed by Saturday.

Also present at that time were Mymensingh Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Shafiqul Islam, District Motor Owners Association President Mumtaz Uddin, Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Hafizur Rahman, Mymensingh Road Division Sub-Divisional Engineer Md Khalilur Rahman, Mymensingh District TI Admin Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Kotuali Model Police Station OC Investigation Farooq Ahmed, Road Department Sub-Assistant Engineer Noore Alam Kamal Pasha along with print and electronic media journalists. Mymensingh District TI Admin Syed Mahbubur Rahman said that several big holes have been created in the causeway below Kewatkhali railway overpass. If a cargo truck falls into these potholes, the traffic on this road can be stopped. Even on Thursdayafternoon, it was seen on the ground that sand has been left beside the hole but the hole has not been filled. Mahbubur Rahman said that there are potholes in only a few places on the bypass road from Kewatkhali to Digarkanda city, even if these potholes were filled, the traffic would be able to move somehow. Apart from that the work of Digarkanda city bypass junction needs to be completed at the earliest.

Road Department Deputy Assistant Engineer Noore Alam Kamal Pasha said that due to excessive rains, water has accumulated on the road due to lack of necessary drains. Renovation work is ongoing. This engineer of the road department expects to complete the filling of these potholes by Saturday.
