Mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) Dr Selina Hayat Ivy has filed a case against city unit Awami League general secretary Advocate Khokon Shaha and a Canada expatriate Prodip Das under Digital Security Act-2018 due to humiliating language against her.
On January 4, the plaintiff filed the case to cyber crime tribunal in Dhaka and the court took cognizance the petition passed an order to the criminal investigation Department to investigate the matter. The court also fixed the next date of hearing on February 8.
According to the case petition, plaintiff stated that a YouTube video channel named “HINDU LIVES MATTER” operated by Prodip Das from Canada on November 13, 2020 uploaded two videos that was live interviewed by advocate Khokon Shaha and he delivered derogatory language addressing Mayor Ivy. Khokon Shaha told the media that he learnt over case but did not get any copy till now.
