A mass hunger strike and mass sit-in programme of the Hindu community was held at Ulipur upazila in Kurigram on Saturday morning.
Ulipur Upazila branch of the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Committee called on the people of all walks of life to play a united role in implementing the government's declaration of zero tolerance against communal violence on the local Shaheed Minar premises at the time.

Soumendra Prasad Pandey, President of Ulipur Upazila unit of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad presided over the programme while, local MP Professor MA Matin, UZ Parishad Chairman Golam Hossain Montu, Municipal Mayor Mamun Sarker Mithu, Uz Vice-Chairman Abu Saeed Sarkar and others expressed solidarity with them.
