Former Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza paid his tribute to Md Moyeen Uddin, who died of coronavirus on Wednesday. Moyeen was the first doctor of Bangladesh who died of COVID-19. He was the assistant professor at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital (SOMCH).
Mashrafe paid homage to Moyeen through a post on his Facebook post on Thursday. Mashrafe also extended his condolences to Moyeen’s family and said he salutes the ‘ brave warrior’ who died after contracting coronavirus. Mashrafe began by saying that Dr. Moyeen was a front-line warrior in the fight against the deadly coronavirus and how his death has left everyone in the country with grief and sorrow.
The 36-year-old pacer then expressed his gratitude by saying that Dr. Moyeen fought so valiantly as a physician against COVID-19, that it ultimately led to his death.
Mashrafe ended his post by saluting Dr. Moyeen for his efforts. Mashrafe page further states that, “Bangladesh is also affected by the deadly coronavirus. Dr. Moyeen sacrificed himself for the people of the country. He served for the country until his last breath.
He has given people medical care with the highest risk of his life. Words are not enough to express his sacrifice for the people, for the country.” Dr. Moyeen, who breathed his last at the intensive care unit of the capital's Kurmitola General Hospital (KGH). He died at the age of 48.
