Man with coronavirus symptom dies in Dinajpur, house locked down

A man with symptoms of coronavirus has died at his house at Birampur upazila in Dinajpur. He died from fever, cold and shortness of breath early on Monday

The deceased was identified as Farhad Hossain Opi, 40, of Taposhi village of Jotbani Union of Bipuram upazila. After his death, the local administration has kept members of his family in home quarantine.

Family Planning Officer of Bipuram Upazila Health Complex Soloyman Ali confirmed the matter over phone. In response to questions from reporters, he said that all the symptoms of a corona patient were present in the dead person.  Dinajpur Civil Surgeon Dr Md. Abdul Quddus said that Farhad Hossain had come to his village from Cumilla 10 days ago. 

During the time, he had fever, cold and shortness of breath. But, instead of consulting doctors he secretly sought assistance from a quack. Later, IEDCR was informed to collect samples of the deceased. 

He added that the upazila administration and the health department was informed to carry out the burial of the deceased as per the rules. The house of deceased Farhad was then locked down. No one is allowed to leave or enter his house. The Civil Surgeon the possibility of the entire village being looked down is being considered.
