Man who fired at protesters in Sirajganj arrested

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a man who openly fired at students during the anti-discrimination student movement in Sirajganj, from Cox's Bazar beach area on Saturday night. 

The arrestee was identified as Abu Musa, 42, son of late Sanowar Hossain, aresident of Dattabari Ward no-8 in Sirajganj Pourasabha.

Musa opened fire indiscriminately on students and masses during the anti-discrimination movement on August 4. He is considered to be the main cadre of former lawmaker of Sirajganj-2 Jannat Ara Henry.

Additional Superintendent of Police Md Abul Kalam Chowdhury, senior assistant director (law and media) of Rab-15, confirmed that Musa was arrested in a raid at Kolatoli point on Saturday night. He is accused of three murder cases.

In a primary interrogation, Musa admitted that he fired on students and masses during the anti-discrimination student movement.
