A man was killed in a road accident at Araihazar area in Narayanganj on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Faruk Hossain, 30, son of Tota Mia, resident of Noapara village. He was an electrician of Araihazar municipality.
Police and locals said Faruk was waiting on road in the area for a transport at around 10:00am. In the meantime, a truck hit him, leaving him dead on the spot.
Following the incident, agitated locals set fire to the truck and blockaded the road for around two hours.
Officer-in-Charge of Araihazar police station Ahsanullah said that the truck was seized but the driver managed to flee the scene.
