Chuadanga Judicial Magistrate Court-1 on September 13 afternoon convicted and sentenced one person to one year regorous imprisonment and fined Tk 10,000, in default to suffer more 3 months imprisonment in a dowry case.
The convicted person is Sazzad Hayder, son of Toyub Ali of village Chandipur in Sadar Upazila of Chuadanga district. He is a constable of police.
The prosecution alleged that he used to torture his wife for dowry. So his wife Jesmin Khatun filed a case on December 26, 2018 with Chuadanga Court against her husband
Sazzad Hossain for torturing her not to pay dowry.
