The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) arrested a man with 5 gold bars, worth around Tk 1.6 crore, at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capital on Wednesday.
The arrestee identified as Shahin Sheikh, a resident of Munshiganj district.
CIID Assistant Director Farhana Begum on Thursday said on suspicion the team searched his body and found those gold bars.
He was later handed over to the airport police. A case has been filed with the Airport Police Station in this regard.
