Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested a man with 1450 liters of locally-produced liquor known as Cholai from Joypurhat Sadar upazila early on Sunday.
The detainee was identified as Sree Bipul Kurmi, 45, a resident of Pali village under Sadar upazila.
Company Commander of RAB-5 Major Md Mostofa Zaman said on information a team of the elite force conducted a raid at the village Pali early today and arrested Kurmi with the quantity of wine. A case was filed under Narcotics Contol Act-2018 with Sadar police station.
