Husband including the in-laws fled away after leaving the body of a housewife at Brahmanbarai 250-Bed General Hospital.
The incident took place in the Medicine Department of the Hospital on Wednesday night. The woman was undergoing treatment there. The in-laws left the hospital after hearing the news of death.
The deceased was identified as Emran Begum from Ranidia Village of Aruail Union . She was the daughter of Haji Abdul Kahar and her husband’s name is Khalilur Rahman. The woman was wed to Khalil 10 years back.
According to hospital source, Emaran and Khalil got marriaged according to their family concern. From the beginning of their marriage the family members were torturing her. This way, 10 years have passed. That day, the in-laws including sister-in-law and mother-in-law quarreled with the victim on a trifling matter. After that, Emran ate pesticide in anger. She was admitted in the General Hospital where she died during her treatment there. The family members of Khalil fled away while the dead body was in a trolley.
OC of Sarail Thana said that he had heard the news that the housewife committed suicide and the body was sent to the morgue after autopsy. He added that for further inquiry they have to wait for the autopsy report.
