Man dies in Sylhet isolation centre

A 35-year-old man died at the isolation centre of Saheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital in Sylhet with coronavirus-like symptoms on Saturday morning, a day after he was sent to the isolation centre.

Hailing from Kanaighat upazila in Sylhet, the man was admitted to the hospital on Friday as he had been suffering from fever, cold and respiratory problem.

Dr Sushanto Kumar Mohapatro, a resident medical officer (RMO) of the hospital, confirmed the matter.  He said that samples of the man were sent to the laboratory of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College for coronavirus test. Meanwhile, the houses of the man at Bayompur village at the upazila was locked down by the local administration.
