A man was beaten to death by a group of miscreants in Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat district on Saturday noon.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahim, 45, resident of Lohakuchi Village under Gorol union in the upazila.
Local people said Khalekuzzaman Masum, resident of the village, along with cohorts attacked UP member Mofiz Uddin and his brother Abdur Rahim at noon for not getting a slip of godown.
The injured were rushed to Kaliganj Upazila Heath Complex where doctor declared Rahim dead.
Officer-in-Charge Kaliganj Police Station Arju Md Sajjad Hossain confirmed the matter.
“Police are trying to arrest the alleged people” the OC said.
