RAB has arrested the main accused in the case of kidnapping and murder of five-year-old younger brother in Cox's Bazar Sadar because 'elder sister did not agree to love proposal'.
Company Commander and Additional Superintendent of Police Anwar Hossain Shamim disclosed this information in a press conference organized at RAB-15 Cox's Bazar Battalion office on Thursday afternoon. Arrested Tarek Aziz (26) is the son of Mohammad Aziz of Madhya Jumchari area of PMkhali Union of Cox's Bazar Sadar Upazila. The deceased Mohammad Abid (5) is the son of Mohammad Ishaq of the same area.
The arrested accused and the killed child are cousins.
Regarding the case documents, Anwar Hossain Shamim said that Tarek Aziz had been proposing love to an elder sister of Mohammad Abid for a long time. Tarek Aziz tries to build friendship with younger brother Abid by tempting him with chocolates and pickles and other foods to convince his elder sister in love. In this work Tareq failed and planned to kill Abid.
On the afternoon of February 1, Mohammad Abid was playing with other children near the house. At one point Tarek Aziz took Abid to the bank of Bankkhali river in Jumchari area of PMkhali union luring him with chocolate. Tariq played with Abid there until that evening so that no one can suspect him in the murder of Abid. Later, Tarek Aziz came home after tying Abid to a tree on the bank of the river.” RAB's company commander said, “Meanwhile, since Abi did not return home even after the evening, the relatives started looking for Abid in various possible places. Meanwhile, Tarek also started looking for Abid after returning home to avoid suspicion.
Later, when the relatives returned home without finding him, Tarek again went to the bank of Bankkhali river. After that, Abid's hands were untied and he was killed by drowning him in a local pond in Jumchari area. Leaving his body in the water, Tarek returned home.”
Anwar Hossain Shamim said, “Abid's mother received a phone call from an unknown mobile phone number on the night of the disappearance. At that time, his son was kidnapped and demanded a ransom of Taka three lakh. And if the ransom money is not paid, the boy is threatened to be killed.
The next day (February 2) in the morning, the locals recovered the dead body of Mohammad Abid floating from a pond in Jumchari area of PMkhali Union.”
The RAB official said that the father of the child who died in the incident filed a case at the Cox's Bazar Sadar police station on Wednesday afternoon as an anonymous accused. Later, after being informed about the incident, RAB started an operation to identify and arrest those involved in the murder. Later, at midnight, a team of RAB raided Khabar in Jumchari area of PMKhali Union, where the main suspect was involved in the incident.
