Malaysia is becoming one of famous destinations for Medical Tourism especially amongst the ASEAN region and KPJ Healthcare hospitals is one of the favourite options of International patients to seek treatment in Malaysia, said Farah Delah Suhaimi, Deputy General Manager, Health Tourism, KPJ Healthcare Berhard, in an exclusive interview with Bangladesh Post.

Farah, now on a visit to Bangladesh, told that the reason why patients choose to come to KPJ hospitals is because of the Doctors credibility, the high technology of treatment provided and the end-to-end service provided by KPJ hospitals.

Delah Suhaimi said their hospital now on a move to facilitate ways to reach out KPJ Hospitals and getting world-class medicare over there at reasonable costs for the patients from Bangladesh.

She also replied to a set of questions made by Bangladesh Post, elaborating the reasons why patients of the sub-continent choose KPJ, adoption of it’s most modern medical technologies and all other related things.

Bangladesh Post: Tell us about medical tourism in Malaysia and KPJ Healthcare hospitals.

Farah Suhaimi: Malaysia is becoming one of famous destination for Medical Tourism especially amongst the ASEAN region and KPJ Healthcare hospitals is one of the favourite options of International patients to seek treatment in Malaysia. 

KPJ is the biggest hospital group in Malaysia with 29 hospitals across Malaysia. Has been around for 42 years, being the oldest hospital in Malaysia. KPJ is also the preferred choice of hospitals by Malaysians. 

Bangladesh Post: What makes Malaysia stand out as a healthcare travel destination? And why KPJ Hospital is a choice of hospital for international patients seeking treatment.

Farah Suhaimi: Most of our international patients comes from Indonesia however we have patients from Bangladesh, Singapore, China, Middle east and all in 21 countries nationalities frequent our hospitals. Bangladesh is also top 3 patients seeking treatment in our hospitals. 

Bangladesh Post: How can KPJ Healthcare accommodate the needs of Muslim healthcare travellers?

Farah Suhaimi: Our hospitals offer Muslim friendly facilities, offering halal food as well as our doctors, nurses are mostly Muslim. 

Bangladesh Post: What does the immediate future look like for KPJ Healthcare? 

Farah Suhaimi: We see Bangladesh as our important market to promote our offerings as there is a need to support the healthcare here. It is our responsibility to create awareness and disseminate the right information for Bangladeshi who wish to seek treatment in Malaysia. Therefore, we are planning to open a representative office for us to be able to support Bangladeshi with more accurate and right information before travelling to Malaysia. 

Bangladesh Post: Tell us about future plan for KPJ Healthcare to provide for Bangladeshis who wish to travel to Malaysia for treatment and what do you hope to achieve from it?

Farah Suhaimi: We hope by having our representative office in Dhaka, we will be able to reach out to more Bangladeshi that need more information. The team in Dhaka will also support in hotel, flights bookings for easy travel to Malaysia. 

Bangladesh Post : What is your last wish to all Bangladeshi who wish to seek treatment in KPJ hospitals.  Farah Suhaimi : We, at KPJ hospitals, insyaAllah will be able to provide the support to all our International Patients who needed help in getting the right treatment, especially from Bangladesh.
