Dhaka is set to come alive with music on today major bands take the stage for a highly anticipated concert. The event, titled "Dhaka Rock Carnival: Swadhin Bangla Betar," will be held at the 100 Feet Greenville Outdoor venue in the capital.
Organised by United Communication, this concert marks the inaugural season of the Dhaka Rock Carnival. Enamul Haque, the head of the organisation, announced that this season is named "Swadhin Bangla Betar" and additional concerts are planned for future seasons.
The lineup features major bands including Avoid Rafa, Ashes, Apekkhik, Aftermath, AK Rahul & Black Zang, Highway, Carnival, Meghdol, Owned, Powersurge, Shonar Bangla Circus, and Shironamhin. The concert will start at 2pm and continue until 10pm. Tickets can be bought on Getsetrock.
The 100 Feet Greenville venue was chosen for its peaceful and comfortable setting, according to Haque. This is the first time such an event is being held at this location. The organisers are committed to ensuring a safe and smooth experience for all attendees. Security measures are in place, and there will be strict rules against any disorder.
For convenience, a complimentary bus service will be available for concertgoers. Buses will run between Vatara Thana and the venue. Attendees can board the buses by showing their concert tickets.
A portion of the ticket sales will support flood relief efforts. Special booths will be set up at the event for donations. Haque explained that while the concert was initially planned after a successful July event, the recent floods led them to dedicate the proceeds to help flood victims.
