Popular actor Abdul Kader is no more. He died at the Evercare Hospital in the capital on Saturday morning. The death of this actor has cast a shadow of mourning in the showbiz arena. Many of his colleagues are reminiscing about the pain of losing him. One of them is Lutfar Rahman George.
In the nineties, the serial drama 'Kothao Keu Nei' written by popular writer Humayun Ahmed gained skyrocketing popularity. Bodi and Majnu were the two companion of Baker Bhai, the protagonist of the play.
Just as Bodi became an eyesore to everyone by testifying against Baker Bhai in court, Majnu, who stayed with Baker Bhai, got love. Lutfar Rahman George, who played the role of Majnu, now wails in Bodi’s memory.
Reminiscing, he said, "Kader bhai is my senior brother first. I have known him for 35 years. I was first introduced with him in the theatre. Later when I went to TV, he was also with me in my first television drama. I can't finish talking about him. We shared deep friendship. In the meantime, I never saw my elder brother behaving cheaply.
Kader bhai taught me a lot in the early days of my career. 'In a tearful voice, George said,' People like him have suffered so much in his last days. May Allah bless him in heaven. We acted in a play and became the characters of that play for the rest of our lives. Baker bhai’s, Bodi and Majnu. Now, an emotional emptiness has filled this the void of Bodi.
Expressing his experience, George said, "Kader bhai has enjoyed the popularity of the play very much. We all did. After the drama gained so much popularity, the characters were loved by everyone. I worked with great excitement and attention. Kader bhai did not have much trouble in playing the role of Bodi. But he has enjoyed everything as a fun experience.
He was a simple man. I remember in the last episode of the play, I suddenly saw Kader Bhai's big beard. I said maybe your beard has grown. He whispered, ‘George please don’t talk about this anymore. If you tell it to anyone now, I won’t spare you. Let me finish the scene with this beard.
'He was such a funny man. I have done many plays with Kader bhai. More than 20-30 plays. I have endless memories of him.'
