Major General Md Faizur Rahman was appointed as the Director General (DG) of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) on Monday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) confirmed the matter in a press release issued on Monday.
Maj Gen Faizur was commissioned in Bangladesh Army on 21 December 1990 with 23rd BMA Long Course. He earlier was appointed at Khagrachari of CHT before promoting to Major General. He served as Commander of 203 Infantry Khagrachhari Army Region as Brigadier General. He was Senior Instructor (SI) and Faculty Member of Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) and Directing Staff and Faculty Member of War Course at NDC. During his tenure as GOC, 66 Infantry Division arranged and conducted the exercise on Swarna Dwip in Noakhali name "Joint Manoeuvre Exercise-2022". Major Faizur Rahman also the Chairman of Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology (BAUST) as an Ex-Officio.
Additionally, Major General Md Nasim Parvez has been appointed as the commandant of the Military Institute of Science and Technology, and Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud has been appointed the DG of Ansar and VDP.
Rear Admiral SM Moniruzzaman takes charge as CPA chairman
Rear Admiral SM Moniruzzaman has taken charge as Chairman of the Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) on Monday.
He officially assumed the position, succeeding Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail as the head of the country's premier seaport authority.
According to a press release from the CPA, Rear Admiral Moniruzzaman hails from the Kushtia district.
He completed his higher secondary education with distinction at Comilla Cadet College in 1987. Joining the Bangladesh Navy as an officer cadet in 1988, he was commissioned into the executive branch in 1990.
Before his latest appointment, Rear Admiral Moniruzzaman served as the managing director of the Bangladesh Shipping Corporation.
SM Moniruzzaman's previous roles include serving as the managing director of Dockyard and Engineering Works Ltd in Narayanganj prior to his tenure at the Bangladesh Shipping Corporation.
