RAB-14 has arrested Hridoy (20), the main accused in the sensational Rabbi Murder Case of Bajitpur in Kishoreganj.
An expedition team of RAB-14, CPC-3 led by Additional Superintendent of Police Rafiuddin Mohammad Jobayer and Squad Commander Chandan Debnath, arrested him from Alangkar area under Akbar Shah Police Station in Chittagong on Saturday night (August 15). Arrested Hridoy is the son of BadalMiah of Nilkhi Hafania village in Bajitpur. RAB-14 said in a press release that during preliminary interrogation he confessed that he was involved in the murder of Rabbi.
According to the RAB, around 9 pm on July 7, the driver of the car, Rabbi Mia (20) son of Md. Lilu Mia of Nilkhi Hafania village in Bajitpur upazila of Kishoreganj, was abducted along with his auto bike.
About a week later missing Rabbi’s body was recovered from the safety tank of Monir Hossain's house in that village. After the body was found on July 14, the family filed a murder case with the Bajitpur police station along with six others including Hridoy alias Sachchu and an unidentified accused. The accused involved in the incident disappeared from the area.
A RAB intelligence team came to know that Hridoy alias Sachu was working as a mason in Alangkar area under Akbar Shah police station in Chittagong. On getting the information, RAB conducted drive and arrested the main accused in Rabbi Murder Case.
Hridoy, the main accused in the rabbi's murder case said that on Nilkhi Hafania Eidgah ground in Bajitpur, they hit upon a secret plan to snatch the Rabbi's auto bike. But they could not find Rabbi alone with the auto bike within 7-8 days to snatch the auto bike. Later, on July 7, at around 9 pm, Hridoy, Yasin, Azizul, Masum called and brought Rabbi to the Eidgah ground with the auto bike. Then Rabbi was strangled to death by 10-12 men in a sand field near the Eidgah with a towel wrapped around his neck. Later, a few of them left Rabbi's body inside the septic tank of Monir's house.
Later they sold the auto bike to Saddam and Jutan for 30,000 taka.
RAB-14, CPC-3 arrested Saddam (33), Jutan (35), Shuvo (19), Emon Bhuiyan (19) from Bajitpur and Rezaul Mia (23) from Alinagar area of Ashtagram upazila.
