Under the collaborative forest management program of Sustainable Forest and Livelihood Benefit Project funded by the World Bank, a check distribution ceremony of Livelihood Development Fund was held among the beneficiary members of the forest conservation village at Kalamar in Maheshkhali, Cox's Bazar.
Maheshkhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Yasin presided over the conference room of Kalamar Raham Union Parishad today Saturday afternoon. Local Member of Parliament Alhaj Ashek Ullah Rafique was the chief guest in the program organized by Maheshkhali Range of Chittagong Coastal Forest Division.
Khan Zulfikar Ali, Maheshkhali Range Officer, gave the welcome speech at the beginning of the program.
Chittagong Divisional Forest Officer of Coastal Forest Division Md. Abdur Rahman, former Deputy Chief Forest Conservator Md. Shafiul Alam Chowdhury, Maheshkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Pranab Chowdhury, Kaler Marchhara Union Parishad Chairman and Maheshkhali Upazila Awami League General Secretary Tarek Bin Osman spoke as special guests at the check distribution ceremony.

At the end, guests distributed checks of Tk 25,200 to 90 beneficiaries for Tk 22,68,000.
In this way, Sufal project checks will be distributed among 1000 beneficiaries of Maheshkhali.
Speaking as the chief guest at the event, local member of parliament Alhaj Ashek Ullah Rafiq said that the forest environment and the environment should be protected for our own needs. Forests cannot be deforested or destroyed in any way.
