Mahbub Hassan Saleh new Bangladesh envoy to Brussels

Bangladesh has appointed Mahbub Hassan Saleh as the next ambassador to Belgium which hosts the headquarters of the European Union in the capital city of Brussels.

Saleh, a career foreign service officer belonging to the 15th batch of BCS, is currently serving as Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission in the Bangladesh embassy in Washington D.C.

In his 24-year long career, he served in various capacities in Bangladesh missions in Kolkata, Seoul and Canberra.
He also served as the Deputy High Commissioner in Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, India.
At the headquarters, he worked in various capacities in different wings.

He represented Bangladesh in several international forums, the foreign ministry said.
Saleh obtained his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.

He had his master’s degree in Diplomacy and Trade from Monash University, Melbourne, winning the award for top graduating student in 2001.
He is also well-known as a public speaker and poet.
