Madrasa teacher held for ‘molesting’ student in Alamdanga

A madrasa teacher has been arrested by the police on charge of molesting a student in Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga. 

Police detained the accused madrasa teacher, Maulana Abdus Salam, on Saturday. 

The incident took place at Azizul Ulam Qaumi Madrasa and Orphanage Lillah Boding at Munshiganj in Alamdanga at 9:00pm on the day.

The aggrieved student said Abdus Salam did the bad things. “In this way, he forced me to do such bad things for about 7-8 days before the Eid-ul-Azha. Later, I informed my parents about it,” the student said.

The victim's father said that his son did not want to go to madrasa after the Eid holidays. Later, when pressed, the boy revealed everything out of fear. After that the matter became known.

Later, the family members of the victim student went to the madrassa on Saturday night. When Maulana Abdus Salam tried to escape after realising the matter, local people held him and thrashed him. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot, rescued the accused teacher and took him to the police station. The victim's family filed a case against the accused teacher with Alamdanga Police Station. Then, the accused teacher was arrested by the police.

Alamdanga Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Gani Mia said a case has been filed against the teacher for allegedly harassing the student. The accused teacher has been arrested.
