Madrasa student stabbed to death for protesting eveteasing

A madrasa student was allegedly stabbed to death by miscreants for protesting the eve-teasing of a university student at Kalia upazila in Narail district.

The incident took place around 11 pm at Talbaria village under Khashial union of the upazila.

The victim was Niloy Molla, 14, son of former policeman Sultan Ahmed Molla, a resident of Tona village of the upazila. 

He was an eighth grader at local Tona Dakhil Madrasa.At that time, another teenager named Tamim Khan was injured.According to police and locals, Niloy and Tamim along with others were returning home from a 'Waj Mahfil' at night. 

On the way, a gang of 20-25 people blocked their way. Then they stabbed Niloy and Tamim with sharp weapon.

Later, locals rescued them in critical condition and took to Kalia Upazila Health Complex where he was declared dead by the on-duty doctor.Injured Tamim said, "One person named Shakil Khan teased a student of Dhaka Universitya at the village fifteen days ago. Niloy Molya protested this. 

At one point of argument, Niloy slapped Shakil. Later, local people settled the matter. Following that incident, on the way back from the Mahfil, they called us and stabbed.''

Naragati Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mustafizur Rahman said the body has been sent to Narail Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. The incident is under investigation.
