While most countries have laws prohibiting sexual assault and violence, many are weak, inconsistent, and ineffective. Although most people hear about rape and sexual assault against women, men worldwide are subjected to sexual harassment, assault, and rape on a daily basis.
According to a study, women between the ages of 16 and 19 are four times more likely to be victims of rape or sexual assault, while female college students between 18 and 24 are three times more likely. Sexual assault and rape are twice as common among transgender individuals and people with disabilities.
Although most countries have laws prohibiting sexual assault and violence, many are ineffective, inconsistent, and poorly implemented. While the number of rape cases and sexual violence has increased in several nations in recent years, there are still countries where no rape incidents have been documented.
In 2020, the World Population Review produced a list of countries ranked by the number of rape events per 100,000 people. The data do not include rapes that are not reported to the authorities.

List of countries with the least number of rape cases reported:
Liechtenstein is ranked first on the list of countries with the fewest recorded rape cases. The population of the European principality is 38,128, and no rape occurrence was reported in 2020.
Egypt came in second on the list, with a rate of 0.10 rape incidences per 100,000 inhabitants. The population of the country is 102,334,404 people.
Mozambique, a country in Southern Africa, came in third place, with 44 rape assaults documented between 2020 and now. With a population of 31,255,435, Mozambique has a 0.20 rape occurrence rate.
Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Tajikistan, all from Central Asia, were ranked fourth, fifth, and sixth on the list, respectively. Azerbaijan has a population of 10,139,177 people and has had 16 rape incidences, at a rate of 0.20. With a population of 2,963,243, Armenia has had 11 rape incidences, putting the country's rape rate at 0.40. Tajikistan's rate was 0.50, with 27 rape cases reported between 2020 and now in the country of 9,537,645 inhabitants.
Lebanon, at number seven on the list, has a population of 6,825,445. The rate in the Middle East was 0.50, with 19 rape cases reported.
Turkmenistan was ranked eighth with a rate of 0.60, with a population of 6,031,200 people and a rate of 27.
Serbia is ranked ninth in the world, with a rate of 0.70. In the country of 8,737,371 people, 72 rape incidents were registered so far in 2020.
With a population of 2,877,797, Albania reported 24 rape incidents in 2020, putting it in tenth place on the list of countries with the fewest rape incidents reported.
The rape incidence rate in Yemen, Nepal, and Syria were 0.80, whereas the rape incident rate in Japan and Guinea was 1. According to the World Population Review, Bangladesh's rape case occurrence reported per 100,000 is 9.82, with 11,682 rape incidents documented from 2020 to now.
