The functions of lower courts and tribunals across the country will run with half of their officials and employees, other than judges, in order to curb the spread of Covid-19 infection.
The lower court’s functions with half of the officials and staff members began on Monday (January 24) and these will continue till February 6 following the health safety rules.
The other half of the officials and staffers cannot leave their respective work areas as they will have to work by rotation, said Supreme Court’s Spokesperson Md Saifur Rahman.
A notification was issued in this regard by the Supreme Court administration on Monday. Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique took the decision after discussing with senior judges of the Supreme Court in line with the government circular issued on January 23.
In the circular, the Cabinet Division said that all government, semi-government, autonomous and private offices will run with half of the employees working in person -- following health guidelines -- from January 24 to February 6. The other half will work virtually.sp
