After spot visit, it was seen that passengers are standing for 3-4 hours for Tangail-bound Nirala Super Paribahan tickets. Even if tickets are available, passengers are not being issued tickets from the counter as there are not enough buses. As a result, passengers are tired of standing in long queues for 3-4 hours.
Passengers complain that the buses are available.But the counter authorities are giving the excuse of bus shortage to increase the fare.
Tangail-bound passenger Mohammad Ataur Rahman stood in a queue for three hours for a ticket. He told that the bus is not coming and we are not getting tickets from the counter. The fare from Mohakhali to Tangail is Tk 250. Now the Nirala Super Service Authority is showing bus shortage as an excuse to increase the fare. Nirala Super Service counter manager Sajjad Khan said, "We have enough tickets." But the few buses went to Tangail are still not coming back. We cannot issue tickets until the bus returns.
While asked whether the bus crisis is being shown to increase the ticket fare or not, he said that this complaint of the passengers is not correct. Our bus hasn't arrived at the terminal yet, so how do we give them tickets? Earlier, the fare was Rs 250, tickets will be sold at this rate.
There are multiple counters at Mohakhali inter-district bus terminal but there are no more tickets before Eid in these counters. All tickets are sold out. The counter authorities are turning away those who come for tickets today.
