BNP senior leader Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury on Friday said democracy has become successful through the 17th Lok Sabha elections in India as people have been able to elect their representatives exercising their voting rights.
“The positive sign of India’s Lok Sabha elections is that the people of that country have been able to elect their representatives through voting. But the people of Bangladesh couldn’t do that in their polls,” he said.
Giving their party’s reaction to Indian election results at BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office, Khosru further said, “Democracy has become successful in India as the country could ensure the voting and constitutional rights of its people in the Lok Sabha polls.”
He also said democracy has got strengthened further in India through its recent election. “BJP, led by Narendra Modi, won the election with people’s votes. People have given BJP the mandate by casting their votes in favour of it.”
