Load shedding has increased across the country since last year due to grid failure. During the last summer season, there was no electricity in Sylhet for 8-10 hours on some days. The concerned said that the situation will improve in the winter season. But load shedding is not lagging even in the winter season. There is no hope of improvement in this situation for now. Reason- Many power plants are not running due to the fuel oil and gas crisis. One by one, power generation plants are closing down. More than half of the country's 133 small and large power plants are facing energy shortages. Although the electricity demand is less when winter comes, the situation is reversed this time. Consumers have to stay without electricity for several hours 3-4 times a day in Sylhet.

Meanwhile, daily load shedding of five to six hours is disrupting production in Sylhet's industries. Due to load shedding, the cost of buying diesel and running generators is increasing. Production in small and medium industries has halved, traders said. They are facing losses due to an increase in the cost of production. Not only businessmen are facing losses, but students and the general public of all classes are also facing losses.

Eman Ahmad, a cloth trader in Zindabazar, said that load shedding takes place at least five times a day. In load shedding, there is no electricity for one and a half to two hours. When there is no electricity, buyers do not come to the market. If this continues for a few more days, we will have to stop the business and go home.

Load shedding has also affected the printing industry. Graphics designer Dweep said load shedding has affected his work. Since there is no electricity for hours, the work is not being delivered to the customers on time. The delivery of the works which are being sent to Dhaka is also not coming on time. As a result, customers express dissatisfaction.

According to the Palki restaurant authorities of ZindaBazar, their business is also facing loss due to load shedding. The generator has to be run for 6-7 hours every day. As a result, the cost of diesel has increased. And it affects the business.

He expressed his anger and said that the price of electricity has been increased again like a blow to the dead.

Speaking to the authorities of the food manufacturing and marketing factories, it is known that they were hoping to turn around the business after the spread of the coronavirus. However, in this game of coming and going of electricity, there is a fear of long-term damage. Production has halved due to load shedding. In such a situation, they have to struggle to pay the employees.

Various offices and banks also have to suffer due to the lack of electricity. Due to load shedding, all important work is getting stuck. The computer should be turned off.

Rimon, a student of MC College, said that there is load shedding at least 6 times a day. It is losing our study focus. Half of the day there is no electricity.
