A farmer was killed due to lightning strike at Charwapda union under Subarnachar Upazila of Noakhali on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as a farmer Md Chaudhury Mia, 48, son of Ledu Mia, resident of Char Aminul Haque village of the union.
Confirming the matter, local UP member Hajji Md Abul Kashem said Mohammad Chaudhury Mia was struck by lightning in the morning when he went to a field to monitor his buffaloes. Later, locals rescued his body from there.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Charjabbar Police Station Kawsar Alam Bhuiyan confirmed the matter and said an unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
