Two Rohingyasdied in a lightning strike in Ukhia upazila of Cox’s Bazar. Three more people were injured in the incident. The incident took place at Camp No 16 of Balukhali Rohingya Camp on Thursday morning.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Harej, a resident of Balukhali Camp 2 / East and Nazimul Hasan, a resident of Camp 8 / East. However, the names of the injured have not been announced yet.
According to the APBN and the camp in-charge's office, Harej and Hashem came from their camp on Wednesday night to visit their father-in-law's house in the next camp. As the weather took a bad turn at the morning, they went outside to get back at their camp. At that time, a lightning strike hit them.
Confirming the matter, Additional Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Mohammad Samsuddauja Nayan said two people were killed in the lightning strike.
