Light to moderate rain likely across country

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted light to moderate rainfall across the country, including Dhaka, over the next 24 hours, starting at 9:00 AM Saturday.

According to a bulletin from the Met Office, most areas in Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds. Many places in Rangpur, Khulna, and Barishal divisions may also see such weather conditions, with a few places in Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions expected to receive rainfall. Additionally, moderately heavy to very heavy falls are anticipated in parts of the Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.

The bulletin further noted a slight increase in day and night temperatures nationwide.

The monsoon remains fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay. Moreover, the axis of the monsoon trough extends through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Assam, crossing the northern part of Bangladesh, with associated troughs extending into the North Bay.
